Tamil Nadu: CM Palaniswami launched mobile command station’ Anjas’ to operate drones

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Jan 12 (NT): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has launched the mobile command and control station called Anjas to operate drones. This is developed by well-known Anna University in Chennai.

The Centre for Aerospace Research (CASR) of the university has planned and developed with amazing decision three Unmanned Aerial system or drones for a diversity of purposes, together with disaster relief, surveillance, crowd monitoring and surveying of land.

Addressing to Press Conference, Minister for Higher Education Department K P Anbalagan made a statement that, this drone will be helpful to monitor the crowd. He also informed that this mobile station can function for three days without electricity and telecommunication."

The mobile station developed by the CASR has capabilities to operate for three days even after the breakdown of electricity and telecommunication.

CASR director Senthil Kumar told ANI in an interview that, these drones will helpful in agriculture, tourism, land survey, mining, quantity survey, and infrastructure monitoring.He also said that It has started working on upgrading the design of its UAVs to go well with some of these applications.(NT)
