20-year-old college student goes to meet Muslim girlfriend, body found on railway tracks

Chennai: The body of a college student who had gone to meet his Muslim girlfriend in Tiruttani, Tamil Nadu, has been found lying on the railway track. Police on Wednesday (March 23, 2022) informed that the deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Dhoniswaran, a resident of Singarajapuram Colony. On Tuesday night, his body was found on the railway track and his hands and legs were amputated.

Police further said that the student, who was pursuing the course of a sanitary inspector, was in love with a Muslim girl. The girl's parents and relatives were not convinced of this relationship. The parents of the deceased student have lodged a complaint with the Tirutani police. The matter is being investigated from every angle. According to reports, police suspect that the boy's death may have been plotted by the girl's relatives as he had gone to meet her. The driver of an express train from Renigunta told the police that a man jumped in front of the train. After this, the police have started an investigation to find out if the man was Dhoniswaran.

At present, the police have detained some of the girl's relatives to solve the mystery of the death and are interrogating them. At the same time, the police are also investigating whether Dhoniswaran committed suicide. The in-charge of the Tirutani police station said that the investigation is on and nothing can be said in this regard as of now.
