Girl student ends her life by hanging herself at her residence
Tamil Nadu: The girl student Anitha, committed suicide by hanging herself at her house as she fails to get admission in medical college through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) based on NEET marks.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Friday declared announced a compensation of Rs. 7 lakh to the family of Anitha.
The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leader TTV Dhinakaran on Twitter said that "I was distressed and shocked to hear that the beloved daughter who struggled against NEET test committed suicide".
The girl moved to the Supreme Court against the NEET for medical admission committed suicide earlier in the day. Anitha had scored an impressive 1,176 out of 1,200 marks in class XII board examinations. She missed out on getting a medical seat.
The NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) – 2017 (NEET) was conducted on Sunday, the 7th May 2017.
