Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin offers tribute to Annadurai on his birth anniversary

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin including his cabinet as well as Dravida Munnetta Kazhakam (DMK) legislators on Wednesday, September15,  paid floral tribute to former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai on his 112th birth anniversary.

The Chief Minister led a silent march from Chepauk Wallajah Road to Anna Square at Marina beach. DMK legislators, functionaries and large number of cadres were present during the silent march led by Stalin to the Anna Square. Senior DMK leaders and Ministers, S. Duraimurugan, P.K. Sekar Babu, former Union minister T.R. Baalu, A. Raja, among others were present along with Chief Minister Stalin.

AIADMK joint coordinator and former CM Edappadi K Palaniswami along with senior party leaders K P Munusamy, R Vaithilingam and C Ponnaiyan have paid floral tribute to the portrait of Perarignar Anna on the Anna Salai.

C.N Annadurai popularly called as Anna was the fifth and last Chief Minister of Madras State from 1967 until 1969 and first Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. He was the founder of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). He was a close associate of Periyar Ramasamy and was an excellent orator in Tamil language. He scripted several plays and movies and made Tamil movies a popular medium to communicate political messages towards the people and was highly successful in doing this.
