Chennai: Tamil Nadu Finance Minister P.T.R. Palanivel Thiagarajan has been claimed on social media that he is a US citizen. SarwanPrasad Balasubramanian, editorial member of news portal Median (Mediyaan), alleged in a Twitter post that scanning the US citizenship record revealed that Thiagarajan was a CITIZEN of the US.

Thiagarajan had responded to similar allegations on May 20, 2021. He had used the word 'cow urine' to respond to the accuser's neitizens, which was extremely shameful. In his post, Balasubramanian said, "Us citizenship record scans show that the current Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan is an American citizen. State that as per Indian law, no foreign national has the right to contest and vote in India. In the next tweet, he referred to a Facebook post by Narenthiran PS where he claimed that Thiagarajan's record as an American citizen was found.

In a follow-up post written in Tamil, he wrote, "It is usually possible to get information like a US citizen or green card holder or H1-B visa. If you pay for it as already mentioned. The information That I have taken about a Finance Minister from Tamil Nadu has also been taken from a similar company. I'm stopping at it, because through it I can get more information.?
