CHENNAI: On the eve of Eid-ul-Adha or Bakrid, Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi, Chief Minister M K Stalin, and many other political figures sent wishes to the state's Muslim population on Saturday.

"I send my sincere greetings and well wishes to all our Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion of Festival of Sacrifice-Eid-ul-Adha," Ravi wrote in his Eid message (Bakrid). The day honours a dedicated leader who gave everything for a worthwhile cause in accordance with God's desire. He said the sacred occasion serves as a reminder of the need to extend love, brotherhood, and service to humanity everywhere.

"Let's make it a goal for ourselves to teach our children love, charity, and good deeds so they can live happy, peaceful lives. The Governor wished everyone "the strength of love, harmony, health, and happiness" on this important occasion.

In his greetings, Chief Minister M K Stalin urged everyone to maintain their happiness and live a moral life. In an official statement, he added, "I ask the Muslim brethren to commemorate the occasion by adhering to the COVID-19 protocols given out by the government."

Former chief minister and AIADMK headquarters secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, TTV Dhinakaran, and S. Ramadoss, founder of the Pattali Makkal Katchi, all sent their best wishes on the occasion.
