CHENNAI: Kamal Haasan, the Tamil superstar and founder of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), remains uncertain about joining the Congress-DMK alliance in the state. Expressing his support for various activities led by the Congress party against the BJP-led government at the Centre, the superstar's political position appears intriguing.
Notably, Kamal Haasan actively participated in the Delhi leg of the iconic 'Bharat Jodo' yatra, an event led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Despite MNM not receiving an invitation to the Opposition alliance meeting in Patna and Bengaluru, sources within the party have indicated that Kamal Haasan and MNM are presently focusing on building their support base across the state in preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The setback for Kamal Haasan occurred during the 2021 assembly elections when he lost the Coimbatore South seat to BJP leader and Mahila Morcha National President, Vanathi Sreenivasan.
The superstar's electoral alliance decision for the Lok Sabha elections remains uncertain, as the party is currently prioritizing the expansion of its voter base.
