Chennai: Liquor shops were closed for the past two months due to lockdown and other restrictions imposed due to corona epidemic in 11 districts including Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. When these shops reopened, the city people of Coimbatore witnessed a very unique case. Some people were seen celebrating outside the liquor shops. 

Dancing, the men burst coconuts and burst crackers outside the liquor shops.  State that strict lockdown was imposed in 11 districts including Coimbatore in the state in view of the high number of covid-19 infected cases. In other districts of the state, there were already several relaxations due to the reduction in the infected case of Covid-19. In this case, the police had put up a strong blockade in these 11 districts so that people could not violate the lockdown.

Let us tell you that 3,867 infected cases were reported in Tamil Nadu on Sunday. After the situation improved, the state government announced some more exemptions, including the decision to reopen liquor shops in 11 districts, including Coimbatore.
