Tamil Nadu sets up counselling service for returnees from Ukraine

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu health department has launched a counselling service for students and parents who have returned from war-torn Ukraine.

Ma Subramanian, the state's health minister, announced Thursday that 40 counsellors have been deployed throughout the state to speak with students who have returned from Ukraine and their parents. The minister stated that seven WhatsApp groups have been formed and students have been counselled in response to their concerns.

Sharing concern before bedia Ma Subramanian said: "Whatever humanitarian assistance they require, we will provide comprehensive counselling and counsellors will be available 24 hours a day. This is a never-ending process." Besides, the minister said that four Members of Parliament and bureaucrats are camping in New Delhi and maintaining contact with the Ministry of External Affairs to ensure the safe return of students and Tamils.
