Chennai: The corona outbreak is wreaking havoc everywhere, the same restrictions imposed due to corona havoc have also affected wedding events. In Tamil Nadu, the state government has announced a lockdown on Sunday as the corona case figures have gone up. Religious places have also been ordered to be closed under the lockdown. The closure of entry into the temples created problems for couples who were already scheduled to get married in temples on Sunday.

Some couples decided to get married at the temple gate as they did not get admission to the same temple. People believe that if a wedding takes place on its premises, the couple's married life will be happy and their lives will be enriched. That is why a large number of couples from Puducherry, Villupuram, and Cuddalore come to this temple to tie the knot. There are 100 to 300 marriages on the premises of this temple.

Many couples were scheduled to get married in the temple premises on Sunday, but due to the increase in corona cases, the Tamil Nadu government announced a lockdown across the state on Sunday. With shrines including temples under the ambit of the lockdown, couples who had arrived at the temple for the wedding came to the fore. They then decided to complete the wedding rituals at the entrance of the temple itself. However, this also led to the ignorance of rules like masks and social links.
