On February 16, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel are watching the watershed of the Rishiganga River after no immediate crisis arises from the 14,000 feet lake in the high Himalayan region of Uttarakhand. A few days ago, it was confirmed from the satellite photos that a lake is being formed in the catchment area of Rishiganga river. Immediately thereafter, a team of SDRF went to survey where they found that the water is draining from the lake into the river and there is no possibility of immediate danger.

Up to 161 meters of debris has been removed so far. Removal of debris from the tunnel is still going on. Removal of water from the pump is being done at the barrage site as well as debris removal from the dumper.

According to the information received, the work of removing debris from the Tapovan tunnel is going on today from February 7.

It is also said that a body was also recovered from THDC Helang late on Thursday evening. So far 62 bodies and 27 human organs have been recovered. 142 are still missing. Not only this, the work of finding missing people is still being done.
