 New Delhi: Jain Muni Tarun Sagar passed away this morning in Delhi. He was 51 years old.

He was a revered seer and died after a prolonged illness in the wee hours on Saturday in the national capital of India New Delhi. According to the reports, He was suffering from jaundice and other ailments.

He was the revered Jain monk. He breathed his last at about 3 AM at Radhapuri Jain temple. This temple is situated in Krishna Nagar area of east Delhi.

His final rites would be held at Tarunsagaram, Muradnagar in Uttar Pradesh later today.  He was born on June 26, 1967, in Dahoh district,  Madhya Pradesh. The Digambar Jain monk had a huge following in the Jain community.

Tarun Sagar ji was admitted to a private hospital nearly three weeks ago. His health failed to improve. He had reportedly stopped taking medicine for the past few days. Due to which he was brought to Radhapuri temple. In this temple, he opted for 'Santhara' - this is the  Jain ritual of fast unto death. His original name was Pawan Kumar Jain. He left his normal life along with his home in the year 1981 to accept celibacy and lead a life of a muni to get the path of Moksha.
