New Delhi: Tata Advanced Systems, a Tata group company, will soon start manufacturing aircraft for the country's Air Force. For this, the company has entered into a contract with Airbus, whose information has been given by Ratan Tata himself. Indian Air Force will buy 56 C295 aircraft from Airbus. Of this, 40 aircraft will be manufactured by Tata Advanced Systems, while 16 will be delivered by Airbus in 'fly-away' condition. These transport aircraft will replace the existing AVRO aircraft fleet of the Air Force.

It is noteworthy that till now the work of making aircraft domestically for the Air Force has been mainly received by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). This will be the first time that a private company in the country will manufacture an aircraft for the Air Force. Airbus will supply 16 aircraft to the Air Force in 4 years after the entry into force of this contract. This aircraft will be capable of carrying 71 Troops or 50 Para Troopers at a time.

Not only this, it is used in medical evacuation, logistics, special missions, disaster management and maritime border guarding. Its special thing is that it is capable of flying in small airstrips as well as those inaccessible areas, where there is no such type of airstrip. Indigenous Electronic Warfare Suite will be available in all these aircraft.
