New Delhi: Tata Group and Singapore Airlines are working together to bid to buy Air India. According to media reports, talks are going on between the two. Together, they will finalize the entity through which they will bid to buy Air India. Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekharan himself is talking to the management of Singapore Airlines about this.

Tata Group is the partner in Air Asia. It is believed that it has freed the Tata group from the no-compete clause. This is why the Tata group is preparing to bid to buy Air India together with Singapore Airlines. Air India Express is also ready to be sold along with Air India. Air India Express is its regional international flight service. The Tata group is understood to be in a mood to bid to buy Air India through Vistara.

Vistara is a joint venture between the Tata group and Singapore Airlines. The non-clause is now being discussed between the Tata group and Singapore Airlines in the premium airline space. The government has been trying to privatize Air India for a long time. To buy Air India, three companies have given expression of interest ie EOI. The Tata group and Singapore Airlines are also considering making another company to bid for Air India.
