Mumbai: Employees are being asked to come to office after the corona epidemic ends between working from home due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Offices in many states are now opening and employees have been asked to return to work. Amidst all this, N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Consultancy Services TCS, the country's largest software exporter, told Yesteryear Guruwar that even if a new hybrid model of working has been adopted in the current situation, TCS will not ask its employees to come to work in the future when the epidemic is over.

He said this while addressing the annual meeting of TCS. He further said, "I don't want to say that people need to meet each other, but it is a social need. After the epidemic is over, there will be a change, people will be asked to go to work." He also said, "At present, 97 per cent of the employees of the company are working from home due to the epidemic. This new way of working is now normal. We believe that in future a large number of people will work from home and sometimes even come to office. This will be a new way of working.''

At the same time, Chandrasekaran is the Chairman of Tata Sons as well as the Chairman of the group of companies. When asked by a shareholder, "What will happen to the company's big premises and real estate if people continue to work from home?" In response, he said, "We still believe that offices will be needed. Their consumption levels may be low, but once people start coming to work, there will be a lot of collaborative workplaces available in the offices.''

Moreover, Chandrasekaran said, "Out of 4.88 lakh employees of TCS, five per cent were affected by covid infection and 80 per cent of those who were infected have recovered. The company is employed by 150 nationalities and is investing in people wherever the company works. The company has 15,000 employees in Latin America.''
