Tata Motors and Tata Power have joined hands to set up 300 charging stations to promote electric vehicles in the country. Both the companies said in a statement that it will set up 300 charging stations in the current fiscal. The charging stations will be set up in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. According to media reports, both the companies will start 7 charging stations in Pune under this joint venture. In addition, the company plans to install 45 chargers in the other four cities in the next two months. The company will install all these chargers at Tata Motors dealers, select retail outlets of Tata Group and other public places. Most importantly, all of these will be fast DC chargers.

In a statement, Tata Power MD and CEO Praveer Sinha said on the occasion that our goal is to make electric vehicle charging easier for Indians as much as we can and we are very happy by partnering with Tata Motors. According to him, the joint venture will mark places where the number of owners of electric vehicles is high.
