The basic Pure variant of the Tata Punch SUV was officially launched in India at a starting price of 5.49 lakh (ex showroom, introductory). Tata Motors' Punch is priced at a maximum of Rs. 8.49 lakh (ex showroom, introductory). Tata Punch features a design that is inspired by its larger brothers, such as Safari and Harrier. There are, however, certain unique design features. Tata Punch has already received 21,000 bookings across India.

Variants

Accomplished, Adventure, Creative, and Pure are the four main variations of Tata Punch. Both manual and AMT gearboxes are offered in the Accomplished, Adventure, and Creative models.

Colours

Tata Punch will be available in a variety of colour combinations. Tornado Blue, Calypso Red, Meteor Bronze, Atomic Orange, Tropical Mist, Daytona Grey, and Orcus White are the colours in issue.
 

Competitors

The high-riding micro SUV will compete with rivals such as Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Mahindra KUV100. It will also lock horns with Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.

Dimension

Tata Punch has a length of 3,827 mm, a width of 1,742 mm, and a height of 1,615 mm. The SUV has a wheelbase of 2,425 mm and a ground clearance of 187 mm. It has a boot storage capacity of 366 litres.

 Design

Tata Punch features a powerful style that is small and eye-catching. Despite its tiny size, the car has a significant visual presence on the road. It comes with stylish projector headlights. The sleek and high-positioned LED daytime running lights complement the humanity line nicely. The fog lights are positioned at each end of a huge black grille with an unique mesh design at the lower front profile.

The side profile is two-toned, with the glass section painted black and the roof painted in a separate colour theme. Other design features include dual-color ORVMs, a strong beltline, black body cladding, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, roof rails, and tiny LED taillights. The rear appearance is reminiscent of the Datsun Redi-Go, although it is unique.

Cabin and features

The Tata Punch features a small interior with doors that open at a 90-degree angle for easy entry and exit. It has a sporty flat bottom and a D-cut multifunction steering wheel. The Tata Punch's cabin is enhanced by the analogue-digital instrument cluster, seven-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, iRA connected car technology, four-speaker and two-tweeter audio system, body-colored accents around AC vents, and dual-tone cabin theme.

Upholstery with a tri-arrow pattern is also included. The rear flat door provides more comfort for rear passengers without compromising legroom. Other features include electrically foldable ORVMs, height-adjustable driver seat, push start-stop button, automatic climate control, leather-wrapped steering and gear shifter, cooled glove box, rear armrest, over 25 utility space, follow me home headlamps etc.

Powertrain

A 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine with Dyna Pro technology powers the Tata Punch SUV. A five-speed manual gearbox and a five-speed AMT are also available for the engine. The engine produces 86 horsepower and 113 pound-feet of torque. There isn't a diesel engine available.

Safety

Global NCAP has given Tata Punch a five-star safety certification for adult occupant protection and a four-star safety rating for kid occupant protection. It's the latest addition to Tata Motors' stable of safe vehicles. This SUV is based on Tata's ALFA-ARC architecture that provides generous structural rigidity.

Dual airbags, reverse parking camera, front fog lights with cornering functions, Traction Control Mode, 370 mm water-wading capacity, ABS with EBD, Brake Sway Control, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, rear defogger, ISOFIX support, and other safety features are included in the tiny SUV.
