More than 16,000 houses affected due to storm in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: After two days of devastation, the cyclone Tauktae is now weakening. In the last two days, the storm has wreaked havoc in Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra. It then hit the gujarat coast late last night during which winds of 185 km to 190 kmph continued for a long time.

Meanwhile, there was a landslide in Diu at 60 km from Gujarat, raining with winds after hitting the coast. Manorama Mohanty, Director-in-Charge, Meteorological Department, Ahmedabad said, "It is now a severe cyclonic storm which will turn into a cyclonic storm in an hour. It will go 50-60 km west of Ahmedabad. The wind speed will be 45-55 km/hr to 65 km/hr. Heavy rain is expected in Ahmedabad and some other districts. '

Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani said, three people have lost their lives due to cyclonic storm in the state. Meanwhile, about 40,000 trees have been uprooted and 16,500 huts damaged due to strong winds. The Indian Navy has rescued a man from the Barge P305 who was swept away by cyclone Tauktae in the Arabian Sea near Mumbai.
