From now on, all those who pay tax on their salary (2.5 crore people) will now get SMS after TDS deductions (Quarterly) by the Income Tax Department to India.

This new scheme was launched by the Finance Minister of India, Mr. Arun Jaitley who briefed the reporters by saying that, the salary based class cannot afford to pay tax twice or indulge in any litigation and therefore they should be updates about their deductions.

Jaitley said, addressing the CBDT that the process should be so clear that there should be no interface between the Tax payers and the Tax Department.

Also, CBDT Chairperson Rani Singh Nair said that the tax department is making efforts and people are registering their mobile numbers so that they get updated. A reminder of those people who have forgotten to pay the taxes by the due date will also be sent through this service.
