LOS ANGELES: Singer Taylor Swift received six awards, including Artist of the Year, at the American Music Awards 2022 in Los Angeles, taking home the top honours.

She added during her victory speech, "I have released more music in the last few years than I did in the whole decade before that. I truly believe it's due to the fact that you, the fans, encouraged me by letting me know that you wanted to hear a lot of the music I would create, according to Deadline.

Swift acknowledged that she felt better the more songs she released, and she praised her fans for being her inspiration.

Dove Cameron won the New Artist of the Year award. The "Cold Heart - PNAU Remix" by Elton John and Dua Lipa received the Collaboration of the Year honour.

Coldplay won the prize for Favorite Touring Artist. Swift won the Female category, while Harry Styles was named the best male pop artist. The K-pop group BTS got the title of favourite pop duet or group. Favorite pop tune was "As It Was" by Harry Styles.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar won the award for Favorite Hip-Hop Artist, and Nicki Minaj won the prize for Best Female Artist.

The soundtrack for the movie "Elvis," which was up against Encanto, Sing 2, Stranger Things: Soundtrack from the Netflix Series, Season 4, and Top Gun: Maverick, was named the favourite.

Other winners of the evening included Bad Bunny, who managed to win two awards, including Favorite Latin Artist, and Beyonce, who won Favorite R&B Artist. BTS, Morgan Wallen, Tems, Wizkid, Kendrick Lamar, Harry Styles, and Tems each received two honours.
