Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced the release of its 5G-enabled solution, TCS Cognitive Plant Operations Adviser for the Microsoft Azure Private Mobile Edge Computing (PMEC) platform, the company informed in an official release.
The move will assist companies in industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, consumer packaged goods, and pharmaceuticals in transforming production by leveraging Artificial intelligence and machine learning to make it more intelligent, agile, and resilient.
The convergence of edge computing, 5G networking, and artificial intelligence (AI) makes it easier to design and deliver contemporary connected applications like TCS' Cognitive Plant Operations Adviser, which is boosting factory automation, worker safety, productivity, and sustainability for international manufacturers. Using Azure services makes it easier to provide and manage the solution at scale, according to Microsoft's VP of Product Management Shriraj Gaglani.
Siva Ganesan, Head of TCS' Microsoft Business Unit, expressed that their target is to equip their clients with advanced predictive and prescriptive capabilities in their plant operations by utilizing potent cognitive and edge compute capabilities to achieve superior results.
The solution, which is part of TCS' Enterprise 5G Edge suite, integrates with Microsoft Azure private MEC to assist plant operators cut waste, increase equipment uptime, and eliminate safety incidents.
