LUCKNOW:  A teacher of a leading school in Lucknow has been arrested under the POCSO Act and detained after a Class VI girl student accused him of touching her inappropriately during an examination.

On complaint, the school authority has terminated the services of the teacher.

The youngster complained to her parents about the math teacher's obscene behavior during the exam, according to the FIR. Her parents then spoke with the management of the school.

on September 26, the parents were called to the school and were told that the teacher will also remain present.
However, the day the girl's parents arrived at the school, the accused took took a leave of absence. The parents then filed a police report.

The mother  of the student alleged,  "My daughter complained about the incident to her class teacher and then to the coordinator of the school, but there was no response." She said that at first, the school administration tried to cover up the incident. She further said that the teacher had engaged in similar behaviour with other females in the past.

According to East's Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Prachi Singh, the accused was reported under the Sexual Harassment Act and the 2012 Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POSCO). He was arrested from Aliganj.

She said, "We have taken the girl's statements before the court and they will be included with the charge sheet against the accused.
