Kolkata: The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Jeevan Krishna Saha has been taken into custody by the CBI after a long interrogation in the teacher recruitment scam case in West Bengal. On Monday morning, the investigation team left the MLA from his residence in Bardhaman for CBI headquarters in Kolkata. The team of the investigating agency was interrogating the MLA from noon on Friday.

According to the report, on seeing the CBI team, Jeevan Krishna Saha threw both his mobile phones in a nearby pond to destroy the evidence. After which, the agency has recovered one mobile by taking the water out of the pond, while the search for the other mobile is on. The official of the investigating agency has told that experts are working to get the data of the recovered mobile, and we are leaving no stone unturned to find the other mobile as well.

Officials have informed us that at least bags full of documents have been seized from a garbage dump near Saha's house. Apart from this, on April 15, CBI officials conducted searches at six places, including the premises of the head of a trust that has B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. colleges and those of another person in Kolkata, Purba Medinipur, and Birbhum districts. Another team raided the house of former TMC block president Bibhas Adhikari in Birbhum district on April 15 on the allegation of his involvement in the teacher recruitment scam.
