The birthday of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan has been celebrated as the Teachers Day since 1962 in India. He was the first Vice President of India and the second President of India. There is an interesting story behind the beginning of the occasion. He himself was a great and devoted teacher and in order to respect, him students wanted to celebrate his birthday. However, while discussing on the plan of celebrating his birthday, Dr Radhakrishnan had stated that Instead of celebrating his birthday, it would be his proud privilege if September 5 would be observed as Teachers’ Day. Ever since then 5 th September is dedicated to teachers across the nation.

 On the occasion of Teachers' Day Prime minister, Modi and President Ramnath Kovind  took their official Twitter handles and greet the nation .

PM Modi bow to our former President Radhakrishnan while President  Kovind wish the  great gurus to help and guide in building a nation and world full of wisdom, peace and harmony.
