New Delhi: ON the occasion of Teachers Day, September 5, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to "all the hardworking teachers who  enlights knowledge among young minds".

The Prime Minister also paid tribute to former President Dr. S Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary.
"Happy Teachers Day, especially to all the dedicated teachers who share the delights of learning with the next generation. On the occasion of h Dr. S Radha Krishnan's birthday, I also honor our former president Dr. Radhakrishnan" Modi said.

highlighting the contribution of teachers, the Prime Minister said in a  video message that while a mother gives birth, a teacher gives life.

"A teacher occupies the same position in society as a mother. Such teachers, who prioritise their loved ones before themselves, have also been observed. They spend their life with their students. The teacher gives life, not the mother. All of us are constantly aware of the impact that teachers have been extending on our lives. There will always be a childhood statement made by a person that sticks with them throughout their lives. The Teacher never stops working. If we have good instructors, scientists, and physicians, there are teachers who support them "PM Modi said.

The Prime Minister paid tribute to former president Radhakrishnan, whose birthday is commemorated as Teachers' Day, saying, "Despite having held a number of positions, Radhakrishnan had always seen himself as a teacher. He always used to say that a good teacher is the one whose inner student never dies.

In honour of former President Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, a writer and philosopher who served as India's second president and was born on September 5, 1888, Teachers' Day is observed nationwide. He has made an excellent contribution to the subject of education.
