India celebrates National Teachers' Day on September 5, marking the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the country's second president and a revered philosopher, educator, and scholar. This day recognizes the invaluable role teachers play in shaping the future of the nation.

President Droupadi Murmu will present the prestigious National Teachers' Award 2024 to 82 exceptional teachers at a special ceremony held today at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The award acknowledges the remarkable contributions of educators who have dedicated themselves to improving the quality of education and positively impacting the lives of their students.

Along with school teachers, the honor extends to 16 educators from the Department of Higher Education and another 16 from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

The recipients of this award will receive a certificate of merit, a silver medal, and a cash prize of Rs.50,000 as a token of appreciation for their outstanding efforts.
