New Delhi: Delhi's Arvind Kejriwal government will felicitate teachers who played an important role in the Corona period on September 5, Teachers Day. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the teachers played a big role during the corona. Teachers did important work in distribution, vaccination, and enforcement from duty at the Quarantine Centre to distributing rations in schools.

Sisodia further said that teachers performed duty during the epidemic, as well as conducted online classes amid challenges. The children's mobile recharge was done by paying for online classes themselves. Sisodia said that during the migration of people, the teachers took responsibility and accommodated the children in Delhi. He further said that the teachers proved during the epidemic that the Guru has to be ahead of Govind.

He said that this year's Teachers' Award will also be special. Earlier these were based on academic performance. But we converted it into a grand function in 2016. Sisodia said the number of awards has been increased from 103 to 122. Earlier, only teachers with the 15-year of experience received awards, now the deadline has been reduced to 3 years. Now we have also started this award for guest teachers private school teachers. We have created different categories according to the number of students in schools.
