New Delhi: Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said at a recent press conference, "The performance of teachers during this year's epidemic will be a major criterion besides academic excellence for the award of teachers to be given in Delhi on September 5.'' At the same time, he also said, "During the epidemic, teachers have done extraordinary work ranging from covid duty to vaccine ration distribution.''

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also said, "Teachers were not familiar with the online teaching system, but they have excelled in online teaching and taught students during the epidemic. Teachers have proved why they are always put ahead of God.'' At the same time, he added, "This year the teachers' award will be different, as it will measure the performance of teachers during the covid as well.''

Let me tell you all that this year's awards are going to be given to a total of 122 teachers. However, earlier only 103 awards were presented on the occasion. On the other hand, one of the major criteria for teacher awards was to have 15 years of experience in teaching, though this year it has been converted into only three years of experience, which will include guest teachers as well as all teachers from private government schools.

Let me tell all of you that out of the total 1,102 applications submitted for the awards, 122 have been finalized by the Government. In fact, this year, a special award Face of DOE has been launched by the Delhi Government. Let me tell you that Rajkumar Suman Arora will be given the award and on the other hand, the special award will be given to Bharati Kalra Rani Bhardwaj.
