Ind vs Eng: India's embarrassing defeat, dreams of winning series in England after 15 years shattered

New Delhi: The Indian team has suffered a crushing defeat in the Test match played at the Edgbaston ground in Birmingham. England scored 378 runs in the fourth innings to win a record and level the five-match series at 2-2. After 15 years, the dream of winning the Test series in England, which was adorned, team India reached Edgbaston and that dream has been shattered.

Chasing a target of 378 runs, Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow played brilliant innings for England. Both of them scored centuries here and team India did not get a single breakthrough in the 7 wickets that were needed to win on the final day. Joe Root scored 142 and Jonny Bairstow scored 114. In the first innings, England scored 284 runs and fell behind India by 132 runs. Jonny Bairstow became the star for England in this first innings as well. What happened to Jonny Bairstow, who was struggling in the beginning, and imitated Virat Kohli, and turned the whole game. After this, he scored a century in the first innings and also scored a century in the second innings. 

In the second innings, England batsmen got to see a very different game. The England opening pair put on a century partnership first. Then there was a tremendous partnership between Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow. Former captain Joe Root also scored the 28th century of his career here.
