ICC cricket World Cup 2019 is to commence from May 30 and India will begin their World Cup campaign against South Africa on June 5 at the Rose Bowl Cricket Ground in Southampton. Looking at the conditions in England, it is thought that fast bowlers will play a big role for India at the World Cup. Currently, Team India comprises of 3 pacers (Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami) and one fast-bowling allrounder (Hardik Pandya). It is one of many reasons why India has done well in overseas conditions in the past 2 years.

However, the team management will have a big decision to make before the start of the World Cup as they look to get the team combination right. Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have been exceptional in the past year and could retain their spot in the team. Then who will miss out from the playing XI at the World  Cup? Former India cricketer reckons Hardik should start in the final 11 ahead of Bhuvneshwar.

Manjrekar said, “In 50-overs cricket, we don’t quite see the best of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He has a great attitude and is someone who isn’t gifted. He has worked against all odds to make a contribution. He tends to strain at times in the death during 50-overs cricket due to his lack of pace and strength.

India is likely to drop Bhuvneshwar and get Hardik Pandya in because of the batting ability. He is a kind of bowler the world has seen a lot of,” Manjrekar mentioned.
