Ranchi: Cases of women trafficking are continuously coming to the fore in Jharkhand. Recently, an incident has come to light of a 19-year-old girl kidnapped from Palamu district and taken to Madhya Pradesh for smuggling. The girl who was allegedly kidnapped and brought for smuggling has been rescued from Chhatarpur in MP and 3 persons have been arrested. The police gave this news on Monday.

The same Ramgarh police station in charge Prabhat Ranjan Rai said that after 5 months of kidnapping, a special team of Palamu policemen rescued the woman from MP and brought her back to Medininagar. He said that on the pretext of a job, one of her neighbours had lured her and sent her to MP. The officer said that the neighbour was in contact with criminals who have links with human traffickers. On not getting any information about her daughter, the girl's mother had contacted the police and filed a case in August 2021.

Along with this, Rai said, "The main culprit first took the woman to Ramanujganj in Chhattisgarh and then sold it to a resident of MP for Rs 70,000." He said that acting on a secret complaint, a special team with the help of local police raided Tikpur village in Chhatarpur district and rescued the girl. Also, three persons have been arrested. Earlier this month, East Singhbhum district police had rescued two women and a girl from the Sabar tribe who were taken to MP from Jharkhand by human trafficking and arrested five criminals including a woman in this regard.
