Patna: The political turbulence in Bihar over the booze ban has continued, with Leader of the Opposition and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav accusing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of being involved in the liquor trade.
In a press conference, the RJD leader added, "This job is being done by those who sit near Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. How many MLAs and ministers are involved in this? We all know who they are. Who is the government seeking information from? Why don't you look into it for yourself?"
His remark came in reaction to claims made by the Janata Dal United (JDU), which stated that if Tejashwi Yadav had any evidence of liquor sales in Bihar, he should submit it to the government. The opposition leader went on to say that the booze ban in Bihar is a ruse.
"The Nitish government should reveal how many new liquor stores opened in Bihar after 2005, as well as how many booze stores existed prior to 2005. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should explain what substantial steps have been done so far. Everywhere, home delivery is available. Nitish Kumar should tell me what action is being taken now in response to the questions he is asking me "he added.
