HYDERABAD: After the confirmation of 2159 new cases of coronavirus infection in Telangana, the total cases have crossed 1.65 lakh, while the number of dead has increased to more than one thousand after the death of nine more people. The government bulletin said on Thursday that the maximum number of 318 cases of new patients has been registered from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

This was followed by 176 cases from Rangareddy district and 141 from Nalgonda district. The bulletin gives figures up to eight o'clock on 16 September. It states that 1,33,555 patients have become healthy due to infection, while 30,443 patients are undergoing treatment. At the same time, 1005 patients have died and the total cases are 1,65,00 3. Earlier on Wednesday, 53,094 samples were investigated. A total of 23,29,316 samples have been investigated so far.

The bulletin states that 62,740 samples have been tested per 10 lakh population. The death rate in Telangana is 0.60 percent, while at the national level it is 1.62 percent. At the same time, the rate of recovery in Telangana is 80.94 percent, while at the national level it is 78.59 percent. There are 23,674 people living in isolation in homes or government quarantine centers.
