Hyderabad: Traffic police in Hyderabad have caught a man who has been fined 117 times so far. During a regular vehicle check, Hyderabad Traffic Police caught a man who managed to dodge paying 117 challans over 7 years. He has been fined about Rs 30,000 so far.

The man has been identified as Farid Khan, who is driving a scooty and is yet to face an invoice of Rs 30,000. He was caught driving without a helmet near Nampally and when the traffic police checked his registration, it was found that 117 challans worth Rs 29,720 had been fined on his vehicle. But, Farid Khan has not paid a single fine penalty in the last 7 years. Police seized the two-wheeler and asked Farid Khan to pay the pending fine and take his scooty. A legal notice was also sent to Farid Khan asking him to pay the fine, otherwise a chargesheet would be filed for confiscation of his vehicle.

State that according to the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act, if someone has not paid a fine of challans deducted more than 10 times, the police can seize his vehicle. According to the e-challan website, most fines issued since 2014 were deducted without helmets or due to wrong parking. At the same time, some fines were related to not wearing face masks in public places while driving. Some fines have been separated from driving on the wrong side.
