Telangana Finance Minister reviews Budget proposals

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Jan 26 (NT): Telangana Finance Minister Etela Rajender on Thursday evaluated and discussed the Budget proposals with the finance department officials.

Rajender put in plain words to the finance officials about the Budget that is to be introduced in the state in the financial year 2018-19.

For now, the Telangana Prohibition and Excise Association Diary 2018 has been launched by Excise Minister Padma Rao and Mahabubnagar MLA V.Srinivas Goud.

Addressing at the event, MLA V. Srinivas Goud stated "The excise department is the uniform department; it has made high securities during the Telangana agitation. Constable, head constables and everyone had worked hard in the successful of Telangana formation. The drug was not stopped for last 60 years but after the Telangana formation, it was completely banned. The cheap liquor was banned and a healthy environment was created to the public around."

Meanwhile, the Budget will be presented on February 1 by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

This will be the last full-fledged budget that will be presented by the Narendra Modi-led Union Government ahead of general election 2019.

The first half of the session will be a short event and will end on February 9 as it is being held in the middle of assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur, and Goa.

A shorter first part will facilitate parties to focus on electioneering. The second half of the session will commence on March 8 and will finish off on April 12. (NT)
