Hyderabad: The villagers living around the Manjeera Wildlife Sanctuary of Sangareddy district in Telangana are very angry and living life in a panic these days. They are demanding strict action from the administration for their safety. In the Sangareddy district, there was a shocking incident on Monday morning when a crocodile dragged a person into the water and killed him. The incident occurred in Isojipet in Pulkal Mandal when a 45-year-old shepherd named Golla Mallaiah took his cattle to the Manjeera river for a bath.

When people heard the screams of Mallaiah and saw the cattle running here and there, people reached the spot. After this, people tried to rescue Mallaiah from the crocodile with poles and stones, but it was late by then. With great difficulty, only Mallaiah's corpse can be saved. There is anger among the people living on the banks of the Manjeera river after this incident. He says that such incidents are increasing continuously, the administration should take strict steps. People say that crocodiles often hunt people and cattle living near the river.

The Manjeera Wildlife Sanctuary and reservoir have been developed to conserve the crocodile species as the species is in danger of extinction. In 2017, crocodiles were counted, numbering 430.
