HYDERABAD: Police in Telangana's Bhadradri Kothagudem district filed a FIR against a legislator's son on Monday, just hours after a couple and their 12-year-old daughter committed suicide.
Ramakrishna, a businessman, his wife Sri Lakshmi, and their daughter Sahitya were allegedly burnt to death while another daughter was injured in their residence in the district's Old Palvancha region early on Monday due to a cooking gas leakage. The injured girl was taken to a Kothagudem hospital, where her condition is described as critical.
Initially, the police assumed it was an accident. However, preliminary investigations revealed that it was most likely a suicide. The cops seized some documents and bills from Ramakrishna's automobile.
Also discovered was a suicide letter reportedly written by Ramakrishna. Financial difficulties and pressure from those who contributed money, he allegedly stated, were the driving forces for the suicide pact. Raghavender, the son of local politician V. Venkateswara Rao, was also referenced in the suicide note, according to reports.
By the evening, the case had taken a new turn when the police added Raghavendar to the FIR.
