Hyderabad: Addressing a meeting at Jagtiyal near Karimnagar on Thursday, ruling TRS MLA K Vidyasagar Rao targeted BJP leaders and asked them not to donate if they came to them. The MLA said that it was not necessary to donate to the ram temple in Ayodhya amid the campaign to raise funds.

After the video of Rao's speech went viral, the BJP protested against the ruling party and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in Karimnagar and other places. Vidyasagar Rao asked if people would go to Uttar Pradesh for the temple. Ram temples can be built only in villages and worshipped, and no one else needs to donate.

State BJP president and MP B.C. Sanjay Kumar said that the trs president and Chief Minister Rao would protest peacefully across the state on Friday for "apologizing and not clarifying" the Telangana people.
