NEW DELHI: Increased tariffs, as well as an increase in data usage, are projected to boost telecom revenue growth in FY23.

Due to issues such as the 'Adjusted Gross Revenue' (AGR) case judgement, which imposed a massive immediate liability on telecom operators' accounts, the sector has been plagued with debt.

In a research, Brickwork Ratings (BWR) stated, "While the pandemic had a negative impact on other sectors, it turned out to be a boon for the telecom sector because corporates were dependent on telecom providers for the smooth running of their operations."

"As a result, key measures like 'Average Monthly Revenue Per Unit' and “Average Communication time per month per one user” have been steadily increasing in the sector." According to the analysis, the sector's poor status may improve in the future, with price hikes and ongoing growth in data usage expected to boost income by 6-8 percent in FY22.

Furthermore, due to increased demand from work and education done from home, the subscriber migration to the 4G network is impending, resulting in an increase in the company's total revenues.
