AMARAVATI: The Telugu Desam Party, the state's opposition party, has said that under the leadership of Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSRCP government, unlawful and inexpensive booze is pouring everywhere in the state, and has sought a white paper on liquor income.

Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, a TDP politburo member, said on Saturday that while irrigation water flowed under TDP administration, illicit and inexpensive liquor flowed under YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) authority.  The former minister referred to the current YSRCP leaders' "moral bankruptcy" in blaming the Chandrababu regime for everything even after three years in power.

Jagan Reddy is taking innocent people's lives by distributing his own 'J-brands,' which are seriously hazardous and life-threatening, he claimed, referring to the deaths of 19 people in Jangareddygudem town during the last several days owing to alleged illicit booze.

The TDP leader alleged that the ruling YSRCP officials made ten times more money from cheap booze, ganja, and drugs than the State Government did from liquor income. He said that the Chief Minister failed the public by failing to keep his promise about gradual ban. The government was just interested in making as much money as possible from booze sales. Ramakrishnudu recalled Jagan Reddy's remarks regarding the devastation caused by the booze problem. He questioned why the Chief Minister was not taking any steps to prevent the fatalities from illicit booze.
