Telugu states CMs mourn Mulayam Singh's demise

HYDERABAD: Telangana and Andhra Pradesh's chief ministers expressed their condolences on the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav, the founder of the Samajwadi Party and a former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh on Monday. 

K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), the chief minister of Telangana, expressed his deep shock and grief at Mulayam Singh's passing. The chief minister said that secularist Mulayam Singh Yadav was inspired to enter politics by great figures like renowned socialist leaders Ram Manohar Lohia and renowned liberation warrior Raj Narayan.

Rao recalled Mulayam's lifelong commitment to the welfare of the underprivileged and weaker groups, which included his three times as chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, the nation's largest state, as well as his role as a Union minister.  The chief minister sent his sincere condolences to Akhilesh Yadav, son of Mulayam Singh Yadav, and his family.
The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, expressed his profound sadness over Mulayam Singh Yadav's passing.

According to Jagan Mohan Reddy, well known by his alias "Netaji," he had a significant impact on national politics and was revered by minorities and oppressed groups. He also expressed his sympathies to the grieving family members.
N. Chandrababu Naidu, national leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and a former chief minister, too expressed shock at Mulayam Singh's passing.

"I was shocked to read of Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji's passing. Today, I lost a dear brother. I have had the good opportunity to spend a lot of time with the OBC stalwart over the course of four decades, and he never fails to charm me with his humility and understanding of Indian politics "In a tweet, Naidu.

"A remarkable gentleman, he was polite, and quietly went about achieving his socialist aims that improved the lives of millions," Naidu said, expressing his sympathies to Akhilesh Yadav and the late leader's other family members.
