Dehradun: Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat has said that temporary houses will be built for those who have been left homeless in the disaster in the Arakot region. Rescue work and treatment of the injured are continuing on priority in the area. Four lakh rupees will also be given to the kin of those killed in the disaster. The government will also bear the cost of dumping apples of the gardeners this season.

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat recently took stock of the damage caused by the helicopter to the affected villages. The Chief Minister has assured him of all possible help by meeting the disaster victims in Arakot. The Chief Minister further said that the first priority of the government is to evacuate the people trapped under the debris and provide free treatment to the injured and those who have been rendered homeless will be provided temporary houses for the time being.

More than 300 villagers from a dozen villages in the area who have been left homeless in the disaster have taken shelter in two relief camps set up at Arakot and include a dozen school children who could not go to their villages due to road collapse.

So far 15 bodies have been recovered from the villages of Arakot. Where the search for 6 missing people in the area is also zari. Three persons, including the brothers from Vikasnagar, who were missing in the disaster, are yet to be traced.
