Authorities, including RPF, police, and railway staff, intervened to control the chaos. Despite the prolonged disturbance, they managed to persuade the MP to take a seat, and the agitated crowd was pacified.
The virtual inauguration of the Amrut Bharat Railway Station Scheme aimed to redevelop 508 railway stations across the country. The program was scheduled at Amroha railway station, with MP Kunwar Danish Ali among the invited guests seated on the stage.
During the event, BJP MLC Hari Singh Dhillon raised the slogan of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai." However, the BSP MP objected to the chanting, expressing that it was not appropriate for the occasion and was not aligned with the program's non-partisan nature. This led to a continuous chanting of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "Bande Mataram" by the crowd in response to his protest.
The confrontation between BSP MP Kunwar Danish Ali and BJP leaders intensified, prompting intervention from railway staff, RPF, and police personnel to mediate and restore calm. The BJP members criticized the BSP MP's opposition to the slogan, attributing it to a Pakistani mindset.
In response, Danish Ali clarified that his objection was to the program being associated solely with the BJP and reiterated that Bharat Mata represents everyone, regardless of their background or beliefs. He added that he, too, worships Bharat Mata and follows his faith, but the BJP tends to appropriate every program for their party.
Amroha BJP district convener Manish Daksh expressed their belief that the BSP MP's reaction was unwarranted and stated that it made him seem more like an MP of Pakistan rather than India.
Despite the incident, the virtual inauguration of the Amrut Bharat Station Scheme proceeded as planned.
