Kolkata: The issue of the leak of primary teacher recruitment examination (TET) question papers in West Bengal came to light on Sunday. However, Education Minister Bratya Basu has denied this. Even after Sunday was a holiday, he sat in his Bikash Bhawan office and kept an eye on the TET in the state. He dismissed the allegations of the question paper being leaked and targeted the leader of the opposition Suvendu Adhikari.
He said that 'as the leader of the opposition party' if he knew about the question of horse-trading, he should have informed the government about it. The TET exam was held on Sunday amid tight security. The opposition claims that this time the state government has taken strict action regarding corruption in the previous TET. About 7 lakh candidates appeared in the examination in the state. The Education Minister said that when TET was held in the year 2012 when he was the Education Minister, similar monitoring was going on. But now there is a high possibility of corruption in the examination through mobile. That's why monitoring has been increased.
Bratya Basu said, ''Surveillance has increased. The way the number of media has increased, millions of mobiles are running, so we have to keep an eye on it.'' Bratya said, ''The picture which is going viral is actually a fake question paper. I told the board. The board enquired. it's fake. Efforts are being made to stop Mamata's government from taking the exam. The test has been taken.''
