Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has recently given a big relief to parents of school-going children. In fact, recently, the Thackeray government has ordered schools to cut fees by 15 percent for the 2021-22 session in view of the Corona period. This was stated in an official notice issued by the government on August 12. As per the notice issued, the government has asked all government and private schools to refund additional fees or the amount collected by the schools. In fact, schools will have to refund this amount either in the next month or in installments.

According to the orders given by the Government, the action has been taken because it is believed that at least 15 percent of the annual school fee is for overhead expenditure. On the other hand, the Corona period is still going on and due to the closure of the school, it is also believed that such expenses may have been saved by the school management. At the same time, the Government has also said, "This perception is being created by the school management at a higher level than the actual savings.''

The order specifically mentions these savings by the school management of private unaided schools. In fact, all aspects have been taken into account for this decision. The decision has been taken for the benefit of students and their families keeping in view all aspects of the case under the information received which many school managements have experienced. At the same time, it has been noted that the facilities under overhead expenditure have not been availed by the students which they get when the schools are open.
