Thailand govt is putting it all effort to reduce people's living costs, Thai authorities have been attempting to restrict the price increases of commodities, particularly fresh meat and food.

According to government spokeswoman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has directed relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Energy to hold negotiations with consumer goods manufacturers about a price freeze. The Thai President Foods Public Company Ltd., the country's top instant noodle maker, has been approached by the Commerce Ministry and requested to refrain from raising prices.

He blamed the rise in consumer goods prices to the global rise in fuel prices, which has resulted in greater production and transportation expenses. According to Thanakorn, the Ministry of Energy has agreed to prolong the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) quota for another two months, or until the end of March.

The government is also in negotiations with the country's oil and gas firm to provide a discount on LPG for small businesses and food street sellers, as well as to keep the retail price of natural gas for automobiles, which is the primary fuel for the country's taxis, unchanged.
