Thalapathy Vijay is well-liked in the cheerful roles he plays on screen and in real life he is no less than a hero. Recently Hero donated an amount of one crore and thirty lakhs as COVID 19 relief to the Governments of South India including Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister's Care and FEFSI Union. He deposited five thousand rupees directly into the accounts of many fans to help them withstand coronovirus lockdown.

According to media reports, eleven Chennai girls belonging to the same family headed by an innocent girl had gone to Tuticorin for a wedding and had to stay there due to nationwide lockdown for coronovirus. For the last fifty days or so, the groups were living in temples and bus stands and the little money they had was also finally are over.

Devika and others somehow got in touch with a Vijay Fan Club member in Tuticorin, which in turn led to Vijay's close associate Bishi Anand. When the issue went to actor Vijay, he immediately urged the needy to coordinate in fan clubs and for the unfortunate girls. The members of the Vijay Fan Club sought permission from the authorities and have now sent all the eleven girls back to Chennai and thanked the star and her followers for the great relief given to them.
