The shooting of Thalapathy Vijay's next flick Beast, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, has come to end. The actor is now preparing for his upcoming film alongside Vamshi Paidipally. Thalapathy 66 producer Dil Raju, will start shooting in March. The film will be released during Diwali or Sankranti in 2023. Dil Raju announced his upcoming film with filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally and Thalapathy Vijay in September 2021. Thalapathy 66 is the tentative title for the film, which will star renowned actors and professionals from throughout the country.

In a recent interview with a Telugu television channel, producer Dil Raju spilled the beans about Thalapathy 66. He said, "Vamshi has come up with a beautiful storyline. When I listened to it, I loved it. Vijay listened to the story and said that he hasn't heard a story like this in 20 years. When a star says this, it gives you confidence. The film's shooting will begin in March. If there are no delays due to Covid-19, then the film will release on Diwali. If it misses Diwali, it will release on Sankranti 2023."
