Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) is won the Telangana elections, but yet to finalise on cabinet expansion in the state. However, the chief minister is now in a five-day divine ritual or ‘Chandi Yagam’ at his farmhouse, starting from Monday. As per reports, nearly 300 vedic pundits from three different states – Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh – will participate in the ‘yagam’. 

Reports says  that the CM had decisive to perform the yagam before proceeding with the cabinet expansion. The CM and home minister Mahmood Ali were affirmed in on December 13 after TRS swept the Assembly elections. However, post that, the cabinet expansion has been pending. 

Sources said that the ‘yagam’ was being performed by the CM for the “well-being of farmers, successful implementation of development and welfare schemes in the state.”A sper reports, renowned vedic pundits, including Madugul Manikya Somayajulu, Narendra Kape, Phani Shashank Sharam and Bhadrakali Veni, would participate in the 'yagam' which would commence with a 'gau puja'.

The ritual, called Maha Rudra Sahitha Sahasra Chandi Yagam, is slated to take place at KCR’s farmhouse in Erravelli, which is around 60 kms from Hyderabad, where the Chief Minister and his wife will take part in the proceedings. The TRS supremo has invited all elected representatives, including all MPs, MLAs, MLCs and Zila Parishad chairpersons to attend the event with their families. 

Earlier, in Last year also , KCR had performed a yagam prior to the Assembly elections in November 2018. The TRS chief had performed the 'Raja Shyamala Chandi homam' in order to pray for the party's victory in the polls. Following the yagam, KCR had kicked off his exhaustive election campaign from Khammam.
