On Thursday, Union Ministers Prakash Javadekar and Ravi Shankar Prasad have released guidelines for OTT. In such a situation, many rules have been made to control OTT content. Apart from this, the court has taken a strong stand on the web series Tandav, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The court has rejected the bail plea of Amazon Prime India Head. The court says, 'Hindu deities cannot be insulted in the name of expression.'

Not only this, but the court has also said that 'Respect for all religions was the object of the framers of the Constitution, which cannot be hurt.' Aparna Purohit, India head of Amazon Prime, had filed an anticipatory bail in the Allahabad High Court, but the court has dismissed it. The court had reserved the verdict after hearing on anticipatory bail on 4 February. At the same time, the court stayed the arrest of Aparna Purohit till the decision was secured. With this, his statement was recorded in Lucknow.

Talking about Tandav, Hindu deities were ridiculed in this web series. After that, a complaint was filed in this regard. In view of those complaints, an explanation was sought from Amazon Prime Video on this issue. Along with this, it has also been said that the first episode of the web series has misinterpreted Hindu Gods and Goddesses, which hurts religious sentiments.
